How Oregon ERDC Subsidies Work for Beaverton Families

By Veronica Garcia, Beaverton Campus Director

Childcare in Washington County is one of the largest monthly line items for working parents. Oregon’s Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) subsidy program helps eligible families cover child care costs while they work, attend school, or participate in job training.

What Is ERDC?

ERDC is a state-funded program administered through the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC). Unlike voucher programs that restrict families to low-cost institutional centers, ERDC allows qualified families to select certified, boutique early learning centers like Harwell School.

How Eligibility Is Determined

Eligibility depends primarily on three factors:

  1. Household Income: Gross monthly income must fall below the initial qualification threshold for your family size (typically up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Level).
  2. Qualifying Activity: Parents must be working, attending college or vocational training, or participating in an approved employment program.
  3. Approved Provider: Your chosen child care center must be licensed by the State of Oregon and certified with DELC.

Harwell School is fully licensed with the State of Oregon and actively accepts ERDC subsidies at both our Beaverton (14480 SW Jenkins Rd) and Oregon City campuses.

Harwell School participates in the Oregon ERDC program across both campuses. In accordance with Oregon DELC child wellness licensing regulations (OAR 414-300), daily schedules accommodate up to 10 hours of care.

At Harwell School, we believe tuition transparency is non-negotiable. When you tour our campus on SW Jenkins Rd, Director Veronica can answer any questions regarding your schedule and program enrollment without hidden administrative fees.
